TEACHER transfers do not always go down well with stakeholders. While there are guidelines for this exercise, many teachers commonly cry foul, alleging bias and hatred. Nevertheless, the teachers often settle in once the ministry takes its stand.

This quiz tournament was inaugurated last year to become the first ever televised academic competition for East African university students. According to Celtel’s Public Relations Manager, Ms Justina Ntabgoba, the quiz tournament which was held in Nairobi, Kenya last year, will this time be hosted in Kampala Uganda.

Feb. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Yahoo! Inc., the Internet company that has failed to crack Google Inc.'s dominance of Web search, plans to reject a $44.6 billion takeover bid from Microsoft Corp., a person familiar with the situation said.
The board spent a week reviewing the $31-per-share unsolicited offer before deciding it was too low, and directors are likely to reject it tomorrow, said the person, who declined to be identified because the discussions aren't public. Yahoo wants at least $40, the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday.
